History: Hamrick was built in 1964 to provide a student center and cafeteria. It was named for Randall Hamrick, a friend of Bader Brouilette. Dr. Hamrick, of Bridgeport, CT, gave Champlain College's first commencement address, and was recruited by President Brouilette to become Guidance Director and then Vice-President of the new College. Randall Hamrick died in 1967 of a brain tumor, and this building honors his contributions to the early development of the College.
