Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Auditing, CPA, CPE, CMA…. Accounting professionals are in high demand all across the country, but accounting is not the only skill necessary to succeed in this field. Employers are looking for professionals experienced with specialized software, as well as people with strong interpersonal and communication skills able to clearly and concisely deliver accounting and financial information to other accountants as well as lay-people.

The Champlain College Continuing Professional Studies Division offers accounting associate and accounting bachelor’s degrees that meet all those criteria and more! Including:

  • Strengthening of strategic thinking skills through a variety of business courses
     
  • Development of analytical skills through courses in mathematics and statistics
     
  • Increased knowledge of computer technology used in accounting
     
  • Recruitment of Champlain accounting graduates from local, regional and national companies  including KPMG, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, IRS, Ben & Jerry’s and many, many more….
     
  • The ability to take the CPA exam in Vermont after completing several special accounting electives (NOTE: If you plan to take the CPA exam in another state, you’ll need to familiarize yourself with the rules of that state)
