Computer Forensics & Digital Investigations
Computer forensics…cybercrime…cyber-forensics…electronic crime…no matter what you call it, it all leads to a very specialized career involving computer crime, and the digital investigation that leads to solving a vast array of crimes from accounting scandals and terrorist plots, to stalking.
Recognized as a model electronic crime and digital investigation curriculum by the National Institute of Justice, the Computer & Digital Forensics program at Champlain College will teach you how to apply your new found knowledge about the law, the investigative process, and computer and network technology to investigate crimes digitally, including how to find “hidden” information.
Program highlights:
- Managed in close coordination with our Criminal Justice program, this technology-based program reflects the hybrid nature of the field.
- All classes include individual research projects and you’ll gain valuable experience doing research, writing reports and giving presentations.
- You will learn to provide input to business and IT managers to develop computer-use policies consistent with criminal procedure, with particular attention to user privacy.
Learning from industry experts, you will gain a breadth of knowledge about this field, better preparing you to counsel businesses, achieve career advancement, or secure employment within this rapidly growing profession. Full-time faculty members bring extensive industry experience in addition to their academic credentials, and our adjunct faculty is comprised of professionals who are currently working in the field, providing important supplementary teaching, experience and insights.
