Computer Information Systems
There is tremendous demand for computer technology generalists, professionals who bring strong computer literacy to organizations both large and small. At Champlain we offer a bachelor’s degree, as well as the opportunity to create a “completer degree” for those already holding a regionally accredited associate’s degree in a technology field and are looking for the added credential of a bachelor’s degree. At Champlain, the CIS degree program is offered entirely online and entirely on-campus.
As a Computer and Information Systems major, you will be exposed to all areas of the field including programming, design, project management, database design and application, and much more. By the time you graduate, you’ll be prepared to work for an extraordinary range of organizations as a manager, technician or sole provider.
Additionally, as a CIS major you will select three courses from one of the following concentrations as Technical Electives. When you graduate, you will have a transcript that states a Computer and Information Systems degree with a concentration in the area, below, that you select.
- Web Site Design & Development
- Networking (on-campus only)
- Information Security (on-campus only)
- Digital Forensics
