Apartment-Style Residence Halls
For upper-class students who eventually want to put a little more distance between school and home, we have deluxe apartment-style housing options a few miles off the central campus. Free buses run round the clock to and from campus.
Constructed in 2010, Quarry Hill is one of two apartment-style living options for sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Students living in Quarry Hill enjoy the spacious living rooms, kitchens, and bedrooms each unit offers. On a warm day, one can even catch up on their reading while sitting out on their balcony or patio enjoying the sun. The building includes a large multi-purpose room for programs and events, and although it is located off-campus in South Burlington, a shuttle runs regularly throughout the day.
Located in the neighboring city of Winooski, Spinner Place is Champlain’s largest residence hall housing over 270 sophomores, juniors, and seniors in apartment-style living. Spinner Place is designed to be a transition experience for students who want more independent amenities as an older student (all units have private bedrooms and full kitchens), but still appreciate aspects of campus housing such as programming and events coordinated by Residential Life staff. In addition to the convenience of a shuttle which runs regularly from the building to campus, students at Spinner Place enjoy the numerous dining options, banks, bakery, market, and post office located just steps away. And yes, students at Spinner Place will have access to a shared gigabit connection as part of Gig College.
