Mediation

We are pleased to offer mediation as an option for students involved in certain types of conflict. Our talented graduate students in the Mediation and Applied Conflict Studies Program are available to mediate conflict in two scenarios.

First, mediation may be prescribed as a resolution to a violation of the Champlain College Code of Conduct. This would be a referral from the Office of Student Conduct and participants would be required to complete the mediation process. If an agreement is not reached in mediation, the conduct officer will determine the resolution. In these cases all documents related to the mediation will be part of the student conduct record.

Second, graduate students in this program are also available to mediate conflict that may arise prior to any violation of the Code of Conduct. In these cases students may request mediation as a way to resolve an issue with another student when there is no violation of policy. In these cases students may request mediation through studentconduct@champlain.edu. These requests will be forwarded to the Mediation and Applied Conflict Studies Masters Degree Program.

Questions about either type of mediation may be directed to studentconduct@champlain.edu.
