After teaching high school English and creative writing in NJ, NH and VT in the late ‘70s, Warren worked in factories, mills and warehouses in VT and PA while freelance writing before seeing a future in the radio business in the mid ‘80s. After 14 years as a copywriter, production director and operations manager at Burlington's WEZF (now Star 92.9), Warren switched from broadcast to print in the late ‘90s and became editor and publisher of two weekly Chittenden County community newspapers, the Essex Reporter and Colchester Sun, where he won awards from the Vermont Press Association for his editorial writing. In 2004, Warren became Copywriter in the Champlain College Marketing Department. In 2008, he joined the faculty in the Professional Writing Program. He lives with his wife, Sharon Coleman, in Bristol. While he would enjoy numerous pursuits if time allowed, Warren has whittled his list of interests down to gardening, writing poetry and kayaking.
