Cristian Balan

Cristian Balan has been a consultant with the law enforcement community on system administration and information security. He is chief of the Vermont Army National Guard Computer Network Defense Team.

Balan holds a B.A. in mathematics, an M.S. in secondary education and a certificate of advanced studies in school administration from Plattsburgh State University. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D in information security. Balan holds DOD Certification in Information Assurance Level III, CISSP Certification from the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium, Inc., and a Certified Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI).

Balan is faculty advisor to the student-led Digital Forensics Association, the second largest student organization on campus, which creates opportunities for students to interact with experts from the field.
