Gavin Duffy

Dr. Duffy has over three decades of university and international experience having held teaching posts in several Irish and USA universities and was a research professor for 15 years as part of a UN initiative on globalization. His USA work includes teaching stints at several Ivy leagyue colleges. His recent visiting professorships include universities in the USA, Vietnam, Taiwan and Wales in the UK. During much of this time has was also a senior program development consultant with several regional and international organizations.  He is currently the Education Director for the United Nations in Ireland, and serves as an advisor on human rights and global studies to several UN agencies.  He holds United Nations Service Decorations for work in Cambodia, East Timor, Sierra Leone, Afghanistan and Rwanda, and the Department of Defense Medal of Recognition for educational work in support of UN peacekeepers. His personal bibliography runs to approximately 200 items. His special research interests are in human rights and international humanitarian law, moral and ethical aspects of science and society, and the UN's global impact.
