Daniel Hecht
Daniel Hecht spent 20 years as a guitar performer and recording artist before taking up writing. He received an MFA from the Iowa Writers Workshop in 1992, then went on to publish six novels in the U.S. and in 70 editions in fourteen languages abroad, including bestsellers in the U.S, England, Holland, and Israel. A longtime resident of Montpelier, he is also active in sustainable technology development. In addition to writing and teaching, he is now coordinating a project to build a food-waste-to-energy biodigester on the Vermont Tech campus. He insists that having a checkered past provides the best foundation for a career as a writer.
