Tom Myers serves as the Director of the International Business Program at Champlain College. Additionally, he teaches courses in international business, leadership, and management. Tom is also co-founder and Executive Director of Global Reach Partnerships, a non-profit organization that provides training and mentoring to the Sudanese refugee community in and in Southern Sudan.

Tom grew-up in Maine and came to Vermont in 1989 as a ski racing coach and teacher for the elite-level ski racing academy, The Green Mountain Valley School in Waitsfield, VT. Tom is a certified Level II ski racing coach with the United States Ski and Snowboard Association. During the summer seasons, Tom coached with the Austrian National Ski Team, as well as worked as a Ski Programs Director for American ski racing camps on the glaciers in Europe.

After life as a full-time ski coach, Tom founded and operated a unique marketing and distribution company known as The Green Mountain Milkman, Inc. This innovative company supplied specialty foods and dairy products from a select group of New England food producers and farms directly to consumers’ and businesses.

Tom then served as the Director of International Trade and Investment for the State of Vermont. During his tenure, Tom advised the Governor and the state legislative body on international trade policy issues, developed direct marketing strategies throughout the world, and oversaw Vermont's foreign investment promotion programs. As the state’s International Trade Director, Tom forged strong working relationships with foreign governments and worldwide trade organizations. He was instrumental in the creation of innovative programs such as, the Vermont World Trade Office, the New England Trade Directors' Association, the Vermont Marketing Roundtable, and the Vermont International Trade Alliance. Tom currently serves as a member of the United States Department of Commerce’s District Export Council.

In 2004, Tom helped to establish the Vermont Global Trade Partnership. This organization serves as the international trade office for the state of Vermont, and is located on Champlain College’s campus in the S.D. Ireland Global Business and Technology Center. The partnership is represented by the State of Vermont’s Agency of Commerce, the U.S. Department of Commerce, the VT State Chamber of Commerce, the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce, and Champlain College. The VGTP affords Champlain College students and faculty opportunities to perform in international trade research, participate in foreign trade fairs and missions, and host trade dignitaries and delegations from throughout the world.

Tom graduated from St. Lawrence University in 1985 with a BA in Economics. While an undergraduate, he also attended the Austro-American Institute in Vienna, Austria where he studied German and international economics. Tom has a Master of Arts degree in Health Psychology from the Union Institute and University in Cincinnati, Ohio, and is a nationally certified personal fitness trainer with the American Council on Exercise (ACE). He maintains his own high-level of physical fitness as well conducting applied research on fitness and its affect upon effective communication and leadership skills.

Tom is active in the Mt. Mansfield Lodge #26 of Free and Accepted Masons, serves on the St. Lawrence University Alumni Executive Council, and is a board member of the Cycle Conservation Club of VT. In his spare time, Tom is a competitive off-road motorcycle rider. Tom lives in Jericho Center, VT with his wife, Julie, and their two active sons, Will (13) and Charlie (11).
