Eric Ronis teaches human communication and acting at Champlain College. He holds a BA in English Literature from Harvard University and an MFA in Theatre from Boston University. He has also studied acting at Second City in Chicago, and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Interdisciplinary Humanities at Concordia University. His field of research is street protest and the authenticity of live performance. As an actor, Eric has appeared in numerous plays in Boston, Chicago, New York and Vermont, most recently in his own one-man show, "Things I'm Not Supposed to Say." He is a member of the Screen Actors Guild and has appeared in several feature films.
Eric teaches various courses in the Human Communication area including COM 100 (Foundations of Human Communication), COM 110 (Public Speaking) and COM 230 (Small Group Communication). He also occasionally teaches THE 140 (Fundamentals of Acting) and an upper level seminar class entitled "Performance, Protest and Terror." He is currently working on helping to develop the classes for the interdisciplinary BFA in Creative Media program at Champlain College. Eric coordinates the COM classes for the College, as well as the Foreign Language (LAN) classes. He is the Assistant Dean of the Communication and Creative Media Division, working to develop new curriculum, working with students who are Undeclared or changing their major, and spearheading various CCM-related projects.
