Ford Foundation Project
In the summer of 2011, the Emergent Media Center received a Ford Foundation grant in partnership with Yellow Wood Associates to create a web-based game. The game is currently in pre-production with the end goal to allow users to learn how to create value chains that expand livelihood opportunities for low income individuals in regions of persistent poverty. To help the students conceptualize the project, the team attended the 2011 Games for Change festival in New York City. The students are hard at work, having refined their brainstormed ideas, creating a concept, a prototype and are now establishing the foundations of the art, narrative and programming that will go into the game. Additional information about this project will be available as it progresses.
