Champlain College Commencement

Commencement Ceremony

Traditional, On-Campus, Undergraduates: Ceremony will begin promptly at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Edmunds School Field, which is located on Main Street, behind Skiff Hall.

Continuing Professional Studies (Online) Undergraduates & Master's: Graduation ceremony will begin promptly at 3:00 pm on Saturday, May 13, 2017, as Edmunds School Field, which is located on Main Street, behind Skiff Hall. 

Hooding Ceremonies for students graduating with a Master's degree will take place on Friday, May 12, 2017, at 4:00 pm in the Argosy Gymnasium and the Champlain Room (see below).

  • Argosy Gymnasium: Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Digital Forensic Management, Master of Science in Digital Forensic Science, and Master of Science in Executive Leadership.
  • Champlain Room: Master of Fine Arts in Emergent Media, Master of Science in Emergent Media, Master of Science in Health Care Administration, Master of Education in Early Childhood Education, Master of Science in Law, Master of Science in Mediation & Applied Conflict Studies, and Master of Science in Managing Innovation & Information Technology.

Tickets

Commencement Ceremonies: All guests, including children and infants, must have a ticket to attend the commencement ceremony. Each guest MUST have their ticket at the ceremony in order to be admitted to the tent. There is no standing room for guests without tickets at Edmunds Field. The graduate does not need a ticket.

Hooding Ceremonies: All guests, including children and infants, must have a ticket to attend the hooding ceremonies. Each guest MUST have their ticket at the cermony in order to be admitted to the Argosy Gymnasium or the Champlain Room. There is no standing room for guests without tickets at either location. The graduate does not need a ticket.

Planning for the Weather

Both commencement ceremonies will be held outdoors. Please plan to dress in layers, as the weather in Vermont can be unpredictable in the spring. Please also wear proper footwear for walking on the grass.

Accessibility

For both commencement ceremonies, if any guest has special needs (such as wheelchairs or hearing impaired), please let us know at graduation@champlain.edu by April 1, 2017, so that accommodations can be made.

Parking

ALL: The majority of parking lots on the Champlain College campus are available for handicap only. Parking is also allowed on city streets, unless indicated by "No Parking" or "Residential Only" signs. We strongly recommend parking at the Miller Center at Lakeside Campus (175 Lakeside Ave). Shuttles will be running ALL DAY. Shuttle drop-off will be in front of Edmunds Elementary School, and pick-up will be on South Willard Street in front of Roger H. Perry Hall.

Pets

For both commencement ceremonies: Absolutely no pets, besides properly identified service animals, are permitted at the ceremony or reception. We appreciate your cooperation.
