Graduate Management Residency Planning
Integrated Reflective Practice (IRP) is an eight or six (MSL) week course that provides the basis of both the philosophy and the professional development perspective used in all subsequent management and MSL law courses. A significant feature of this course, that complements Champlain's unique on-line learning methodology, is a three day on-campus residency experience that features workshops, seminars, presentations, and team building activities designed to reinforce the IRP approach to graduate education and set the tone for each student's Graduate Program.
The IRP residency is offered three times per year, during the fall, winter, and summer. The schedule for the 2010 academic terms is as follows:
Summer semester, 2012 with campus dates of June 12 - June 14
Fall 1 semester, 2012 with on campus dates of September 27 - Sept. 29
Travel Planning
The formal agenda for the residency includes three full days of activities. If you are traveling from outside the Burlington, Vermont area you should plan to arrive the afternoon or evening before the residency begins and leave the day after the residency has concluded. Residency events begin at 8:00AM each morning and conclude at or around 8:00PM each evening.
Airport
For those flying in, use Burlington International Airport (BTV)
Hotel
Champlain College has reserved a block of rooms at a local hotel that is within walking distance of the campus.
Meals
All meals during the residency will be provided by Champlain College (continental breakfasts, lunches and dinners)
Parking on Campus
Parking passes are necessary if you are driving and plan to park on campus. Permits will be emailed a week in advance.
Attire
Casual and comfortable clothing is appropriate for the residency. The Saturday night dinner banquet is formal business attire.
The logistics point of contact is Jen Colman, Graduate Programs Operations Manager, colman@champlain.edu
More detailed instruction, agendas, locations, and other residency materials will be supplied to you during the Intergrated Reflective Practive course.
