Graduate Experience
“There was not one class I took where I wasn’t able to to take something I learned, apply it immediately, and get positive results. It’s been a very rewarding experience.” —Kelly Sheridan, MSMIIT Graduate, May ’09
Education Innovation: The Experience Factor
Experiential learning is truly transformative. Going far beyond ordinary textbook cases, Champlain’s model of learning-by-doing gives you a way to interact with more realistic problems and apply the course content in a more authentic manner.
Emphasizing knowledge through collective reflection of shared experiences, you will gain the necessary tools and mindset to adapt to changes in your industry, making you an invaluable part of your organization.
Distance Learning Up Close
According to a 2009 report by the U.S. Department of Education, students who took instruction online performed better on average than those taking the same courses in a traditional face-to-face classroom environment. Champlain College has long been a leader in online learning: we’ve been offering online courses since 1992, and the college has been ranked in the top three accredited online schools in 2009 by the Online Education Database (oedb.org).
Each of your courses has its own self-contained Web site known as Angel (shown above), where you can access all your assignments, discussion boards, chat and email whenever it is most convenient for you. The small class sizes promote a thoroughly respectful online learning environment, where group learning is successful and engaging.
