Program Competencies

Master of Science in Digital Forensic Management

Graduates of the MS in Digital Forensic Management program will be able to:

  1. Assemble and manage personnel and facilities consistent with best practices, appropriate laws, and relevant regulations related to digital investigations.

  2. Manage the logistics and personnel associated with major computer and network forensics cases, in either civil or criminal matters.

  3. Demonstrate the capability to critically and reflectively apply legal, regulatory and ethical considerations to managing digital investigations and to the collection, storage, and use of evidence and other private information, taking into account how these issues differ in different jurisdictions.

  4. Develop innovative solutions to strategic, tactical and operational issues in managing digital investigation facilities and personnel, accounting for emerging technical research, management techniques, and information and organizational knowledge.

  5. Create comprehensive and data-driven action plans that are based on the attainment of measurable results, clear trails of accountability and all appropriate risk assessment.

  6. Identify, design, build and maintain processes of continuous improvement and, using a variety of management tools, develop systems for measurement, analysis and accountability.

  7. Demonstrate proficiency in strategic writing skills related to digital investigations.

  8. Demonstrate proficiency in oral presentation skills related to digital investigations.

  9. Perform ongoing critical self-reflection from academic and work-based learning experiences, and articulate the personal learning and growth that have resulted from those experiences.
