Program Details

The Champlain MEd program will engage you on a deeper level as an early educator. Our unique, project-based approach to learning is tailored to allow you to work independently in your online courses and apply the content to your current position in the field of early childhood education. The curriculum is also geared to connecting you with the early childhood community in your area.

The Champlain MEd in Early Childhood Education will open doors for you to move up to administration, take on a higher-level teaching position, open your own center or position you as a strong candidate for the best positions in the field. But most importantly, this degree will make you a better educator, which will have the lasting benefit of helping the youngest students of all—at arguably the most formative time in their lives—learn to love learning.

With each passing year, the bar is being raised in early childhood education regarding which credentials are required to fulfill the different roles and responsibilities. And while an increasing number of states require higher levels of education for Early Childhood educators, the offerings for graduate-level degree programs that can be achieved while still working full time are virtually non-existent. Additionally, there is a desperate need for professional administration of Early Childhood programs—yet few degrees exist specifically oriented toward management. Our Early Childhood Education degree offers specializations in either teaching or administration.

Applications to the MED are accepted year round, to begin in any of the three "start" terms (August, January and May).
