Dr. Gary Scudder
Dr. Gary Scudder, Professor of History and Director of the Global Modules Program at Champlain College, traveled to India in June of 2004 for the summer semester and was the first Champlain professor to teach at the Champlain College Mumbai campus.
In addition to teaching history courses and working with faculty in Mumbai, Scudder also set up the mechanics for future student and faculty exchanges. He also further developed plans to share class projects between Burlington and international students using Champlain’s online capabilities. Since 2003, Scudder has facilitated online class discussions between students at different international universities – by spring 2008 semester the program had grown to include over ten countries and a thousand students. Professors at the Mumbai campus have played a key role since the program’s inception.

K.P. Anuradha
K.P. Anuradha likes to simply be called “Anuradha.” She is the Hospitality Program director on the Mumbai campus and has been so for the past three years. She holds a M.Sc. in International Hotel Management from the University of Buckingham (no, she didn’t live in the palace) and a B.SC in nutrition, food service management and dietetics from Queen Mary’s College (and no, she didn’t sail on the ship). She also earned a post-graduate diploma in Public Relations. She is certified by the AH&LA as a hospitality educator. Anuradha also has solid industry experience with 3 and 4 star hotels in India.
Anuradha spent the fall semester on the Burlington campus where she taught both Hospitality and Management courses as part of our India campus faculty exchange. She ran the Boardroom Cafe while there and delighted staff and students alike with such Indian favorites as batata vada and dal.
When asked what advice she would give a potential exchange student, she offered: “Experience a new world, culture, and people. This will help you to adjust better to the corporate world.”
