and in Applied Psychology internships are an important
part of the educational mix. In fact, the Introduction
to Applied Psychology course explores career options
in preparation for the three internships. The first

Internships
An important investment in your future, an internship
offers career-related experience and an opportunity to enhance
your professional skills. Your internships will integrate your
business and psychology coursework as well as offer an opportunity
to explore specific applications of psychological theory in an
experiential manner to solve work-related problems.
Not sure what type of position you are
most interested in? An internship allows you to experience
a specific sector without making a long-term commitment…or
it can often lead to a full-time employment opportunity.
Because of their diverse and well-rounds skills,
Applied Psychology students can intern virtually anywhere -- a
business, a nonprofit (such as the medical center or Howard Mental
Health), or a government office. Some students may even choose
to work on campus in the Advising & Registration Center, the
Student Life Office or the Admissions Office.
