- Learn how network operating systems run and how to administer local networks. You’ll acquire detailed knowledge of TCP/IP-based wide area networks and learn the basics of information security. Courses combine in-class lectures with hands-on lab exercises and research projects.
- Get involved in an internship with such network-dependent institutions as a major healthcare software developer, a medical center, a college loan service bureau, an Internet service provider or one of many community service agencies. The internship program provides you with invaluable, real-world experience: you’ll apply the things you’ve learned in the classroom to actual networks, organizations and people.
- You’ll learn using state-of-the-art technology. Exposure to the most current networking technologies will help you to develop sharp problem-solving and analytic skills. You will also learn about the necessity for security and how the needs of information quality assurance affect all aspects of implementing, managing and utilizing network resources.
- Explore a wide variety of career opportunities. You’ll learn essential technical and non-technical skills to prepare you for opportunities in system or network administration, engineering, management or sales. You can find openings in corporate IT departments, networking equipment vendors, and network or Internet service providers.
