Sean Padden: BS; May, '00.
Sean is currently employed as a counselor at
Burlington High School's 'Linking Learning to Life', a life skills,
vocational, and academic planning program.
"I am very happy that I majored in the Social
Work Program at Champlain College. I knew entering college that
I wanted to work with young adults in an educational setting but
I did not want to be a teacher. The Social Work Program allowed
me to explore my options through field placements in the local high
school. This provided me with an opportunity to experience what
it would be like to work in an educational setting and see if that
was really what I wanted to do. It was a great experience and a
few weeks after graduation I was hired by the same school to work
full-time.
I would highly recommend the Social Work Program
at Champlain College for anyone who wants to make a difference in
the lives of others. The classes are focused and provide students
with the knowledge and background that they will need to enter the
field confidently and well equipped to handle any situation. The
faculty in the program are excellent. They come from many different
areas in the field, with years of experience, and work closely with
the students to ensure their future success."
