Dr.
Victor Stone
From the Director
Dr. Victor Stone knows what abilities
he wants his students to have when they complete the Champlain
MBA Program. “I want my graduates to be knowledgeable
about the myriad complex issues that face a modern business
enterprise and to feel empowered to tackle those issues.”
Because they integrate what they are learning
in classes with the challenges they are facing at work,
Champlain MBA students have the distinctive opportunity
“to connect the dots between theory and practice,
not only in the classroom, but also where it counts: in
the workplace.” With no lag time between what they
learn and how they apply it at work, “students can
experience real success with their new knowledge, and employers
can benefit from the creativity and hard work of their student-employees.
Dr. Stone has 25 years’ experience
in a variety of management and senior management roles in
supply chain management, business operations, plans and
controls, pricing and competitive analysis, business transformation,
IT implementation, and strategy development with IBM. He
has been an instructor with Champlain College’s graduate
programs since their inceptions. Dr. Stone earned a B.A.
in Biology from the University of Idaho, an MBA from the
University of Utah, and a Ph.D. in Organization and Management
from Capella University. He is a member of the Academy of
Management and has research interests in Web-based business
strategy formulation, operations, e-business, and organizational
change.
