Create the Future Through Media

Champlain’s Master of Science in Emergent Media is designed for those who wish to have creative careers producing and managing the next generation of media content such as mobile apps, interactive experiences, augmented reality and games. The 30-credit programs is offered online and on our campus in Burlington, Vermont, and can be completed in one-year. Students in this program may take classes both online and on-campus throughout the duration on their program.

As a Master of Science in Emergent Media student, you'll employ state-of-the-art online collaborative design tools while working on teams addressing real world projects and clients. These experiences allow you to form relationships, seek solutions, create production processes and achieve goals, all while acquiring a new global vantage point.

You'll learn firsthand how to be successful at the individual and group dynamics underlying today's collaborative and often remote work settings.

For all Emergent Media students, Champlain's Emergent Media Center (EMC) is a hub and a working studio where undergraduate and graduate students, alongside faculty and staff, work together on mission-based digital media innovations for real clients. Online students collaborate digitally and through a short-term residency that prepares all of our students to work effectively in today's online business environment.
  • Use our MakerLab to bring your ideas to life. The Champlain College MakerLab, located in the EMC, is a prototyping facility equipped with state-of-the-art 3D printers, 3D scanner, laser cutter, vinyl cutter, Arduinos and traditional tools allowing our on-campus students to explore possibilities for invention and entrepreneurship.
