Financial aid is available in the form of loans for those who qualify, are accepted and enrolled in a Champlain College Graduate program. Champlain College participates in the Federal Student Loan program. This program enables students to borrow federal funds to help meet educational costs.
Eligible students will be awarded an Unsubsidized Direct Loan. The maximum loan eligibility is $20,500 per year. Unsubsidized loans accrue interest upon disbursement. For more information on Unsubsidized Direct Loans go to: http://studentaid.ed.gov/types/loans/subsidized-unsubsidized.
Should you need additional funding to cover your cost of attendance you can apply for a Graduate PLUS Loan at www.studentloans.gov. Your cost of attendance includes cost of tuition, room, board, books, transportation and miscellaneous expenses. This is a Federal loan and is based on credit approval. For information on the Graduate PLUS Loan go to: http://studentaid.ed.gov/types/loans/plus.
Applying for financial aid is a separate process from applying for admission. Although graduate students will not be awarded financial aid until after they have been formally accepted and enrolled, we encourage students to apply for financial aid as soon as possible. Most students apply for financial aid in tandem with their application for admission. Please do not wait to be accepted to apply for financial aid.
To be considered for the Federal Loan programs noted above, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov. Please be sure to enter Champlain College’s school code number (003684) on the FAFSA. Upon completion, you will receive a confirmation email and a link to your Student Aid Report (SAR) from the federal processor. Please review your SAR carefully and follow all next steps indicated.
