  • Program History: Founded 30 years ago at Woodbury College and then migrated to Champlain College in 2008
  • Structure: Flexible to accommodate students carrying full or part-time credit load
  • Format: Hybrid, best-of-both-worlds format: Offers the flexibility and efficiency of online learning (24/7 access to instruction and assignment; highly collaborative through discussion, chat and email) with the intensity and depth of our face-to-face residency time.
  • Annual Cycle: Five terms per year; courses start in August, October, January, March, and May
  • Application Process: Rolling admission, applications accepted year-round; begin in any of the three start terms; August, January or May
  • Course Duration: 8-week online terms
  • Required Credit Hours: 42 credit hours
  • Degree Completion Time Frames:
    • Minimum: 16 months (two courses in seven successive 8-week term for 42 credit-hour core program)
    • Maximum: 6 years

  • Residency Requirement: Three residencies, the first is two weeks long; the second and third are one week each

Mediation faculty Jared Ordway has been helping communities in Brazil develop peaceful alternatives for resolving conflict in some of the most violent neighborhoods of Rio de Janeiro. His work in these favelas has recently been featured in a Brazilian news story. You can see a clip of Jared teaching locals about restorative justice practices in a recent workshop.
