Champlain believes in a practical, hands-on approach to learning — a philosophy reflected in the remarkable array of campus resources and facilities available to students.

State-of-the-art studio with PC and Mac computer workstations running industry-leading software such as Autodesk Maya, Adobe and Microsoft products, as well as flex space manipulated by rolling white boards allowing for small or large group collaboration and brainstorming. Access to physical computing components, 3D scanners, motion tracking equipment, game consoles and knowledge resource center. The EMC is located at the Miller Center on 175 Lakeside Ave in Burlington.
S.D. Ireland Family Center for Global Business and Technology
This $10 million facility was built in 2004 to enable the College to put students to work on business and technology-related challenges for Vermont companies and non-profits. Resources include:
- fully wired and wireless classrooms featuring interactive whiteboards and the latest multimedia software and equipment
- Power Mac computer classrooms and a multimedia design classroom with open development stations to facilitate teamwork and interactive learning
- multimedia suites where Champlain students can create innovative print, interactive, 3D and video graphic solutions using top-of-the-line visual and audio equipment
- international business resource center and conference rooms
Miller Information Commons
The Robert E. and Holly D. Miller Information Commons holds all the resources of a traditional library, as well as:
- fully networked computers, multimedia labs and private study rooms
- video-conferencing centers and electronic resources
- online work stations that provide access to subscription service research sources such as Lexis-Nexis and JSTOR
- wireless computer networking
- PC computer classroom
Hauke Family Campus Center
Hauke houses classrooms, a photo lab and darkroom, and art and drafting classrooms. A fiber-optic computer network that links faculty, staff and students throughout campus includes more than 260 PCs for student use.
Foster Hall
Foster is Champlain’s central computer support building. Students have access to PC and Mac computer classrooms and a fully networked computer lab.
Students have the ability to check out and use a wide range of production equipment, including professional quality and pro-sumer video camera kits, light kits, audio kits, steady cams, and more.
