Here's a way that you can help farmers in the nearby Intervale Center whose farms have suffered extraordinary losses (again) as a result of flooding from hurricane Irene. Attend Burlington Ensemble's Benefit concert on Saturday, Sept. 10, at Champlain College featuring internationally renowned violinist Soovin Kim (Artistic Director, Lake Champlain Chamber Music Festival) and all proceeds will go towards the "Intervale Center Farmer's Recovery Fund."
Only in Vermont could the power of community bring together so many, so quickly to create this unique collaboration of "Champlain College Presents Burlington Ensemble." Professional musicians, local businesses and our six non-profit partners (Stern Center for Language and Learning, Vermont Children's Trust Foundation, Mobius, KidSafe Collaborative, Puppets in Education and Committee on Temporary Shelter) together with the generous support of senior administration at Champlain College, have rallied to present what promises to be a remarkable evening of music, community building and recovery.
To date over 14 professional Vermont musicians, comprising seven ensembles will donate their music for this unique benefit for the Intervale farmers. Soovin Kim has graciously offered his extraordinary talent to perform at the event. One hundred percent of concert proceeds will benefit the "Intervale Center Farmers Recovery Fund."
There will be two concert sets (6 to 7:30 pm and 8:30 to 10 pm) with a $10 suggested minimum donation per set. Importantly, there are only 200 seats, so if you are interested in attending contact Michael Dabrosk, artistic directos, Burlington Ensemble
24 Brewer Parkway, South Burlington, Vermont 05403 | (802) 598-9520 for details.
