The Champlain College Division of Business faculty recently celebrated its 2010 graduating seniors with "An Evening Honoring Excellence" at the Ethan Alan Club. The evening's keynote speaker Michael Dupee, vice-president for Social Responsibility at Green Mountain Coffee Roasters challenged the seniors to make corporate social responsibility a mainstay of their professional careers.

Scholarship recipients in the Champlain College Division of Business were also announced:

  • Division Scholarship
    Joel Heiny of Lakewood, Co., International Business - 2010 Dean's Award. The Dean's Award from the Champlain College Division of Business is awarded to a Champlain student in their junior year in recognition of their cumulative accomplishments academically and within the Champlain community. It carries with it a scholarship towards senior year.
  • Business Scholarship:
    Hannah Long of Huntington, Mass., Business - 2010 Business Honors Scholarship. The Business Honors Scholarship was established by Business faculty to recognize academic excellence during the first two years of their college career and honor an individual who stands out among sophomore Business majors
  • Accounting Scholarships:
    Brittany LeClair of South Hero, Vt. - Accounting Excellence Scholarship. Awarded to a junior or senior accounting major based on merit and financial need. Merit determined as GPA of 3.5 or higher, classroom participation, tutoring, other "above and beyond" performance.
    Adam Kayhoe of Queenstown, Maryland - Johnson, Lambert, & Company Scholarship. Awarded to an accounting major who intends to pursue a career in public accounting. Student must have demonstrated good academic performance. Preference given to a student who intends to seek employment in Vermont.
    Bryanne Nisbet of Fairfax, NY - Grippin, Donlan, & Roache Scholarship. Awarded to an accounting major who intends to pursue a career in public accounting. Student must have demonstrated good academic performance. Preference given to a student who intends to seek employment in Vermont and has financial need.
    Tiffany Robinson - Gallagher, Flynn, & Company Scholarship. Awarded to an accounting major with a high GPA and interest in public accounting.
  • Kaj Beck-Anderson - KPMG Scholarship. Scholarship established in honor of David M. Coates, CPA - a Champlain graduate and long time supporter. Awarded to an accounting major who has maintained a high GPA, is active in the college community, and intends to pursue a career in public accounting.
  • American Hotel & Lodging Educational Foundation Scholarships: Awarded based on academic performance, hospitality/event work experience, extracurricular involvement and personal attributes.
  • Kristin Adler of Westmoreland, NH - Hotel/Restaurant Management
  • Jordan Wheeler - Event Management
