BYOBiz Speaking From Experience Announces Spring Line-up

Champlain College's Bring Your Own Business (BYOBiz) Program announces its Spring 2010 Speaking from Experience series of lectures and talks, which features local business and entrepreneurial leaders. All events are held in Alumni Auditorium at Champlain College and are free and open to the public.
· Tuesday, Jan. 26, 7 pm: Brad Robertson, Publisher, The Burlington Free Press, "On Intrapreneurship." In addition to serving as publisher of Vermont's largest daily newspaper, Robertson is frequently participates on Gannett's special venture teams trying to improve the competitiveness of the international media company's legacy newspaper businesses in this new media age. He will speak about "intrapreneurship" (entrepreneurship in large companies).
· Tuesday, March 2, 7 pm: Dawn and Michael Lancaster, co-founders of Carved Solutions, LLC. Dawn and Michael are both Champlain College alums living out their childhood dream -- to operate a successful business together. Dawn recently spoke to students during the College's LEAD program Life Entrepreneurs Sophomore Symposium. Dawn and Michael will speak about their path to creating a successful specialty soap company based in Vermont.
· Tuesday, March 30, 7 pm: Hinda Miller, founder of Jogbra and currently Vermont State Senator.
Inspired by the impact of Title IX on women's participation in sports in the 1970, Miller (literally) sewed two jockstraps together to create the first Jogbra. She and her business partner built Jogbra into a successful Vermont-based enterprise, eventually selling the company to Playtex. With financial security, Miller focused on creating a more balanced life and various causes, and eventually a successful run in politics as a Vermont State Senator.
