Champlain View Fall 2011 Issue Available

BURLINGTON, VT - The new Champlain View magazine has a fresh look and new format for the Fall 2011 edition. Each semester, the College distributes thousands of copies of the magazine geared toward alumni, parents and friends for the college.

Top stories include the Champlain Summit, held in August to build partnerships for a thriving workforce. The story begins, "In the spirit of its namesake, Samuel De Champlain, Champlain College embarked on a bold expedition toward the day when it will be regarded as the finest small, professionally and globally focused college in the United States."

Another story takes note of the advantages Champlain College graduates have over their peers from other secondary institutions when it comes to making it in the real world and landing jobs in their chosen fields.

The 2011 Alumni Leadership Award recipients are in the spotlight as well. Alumni featured in this edition of the View include Ginger Vieira '08, Ron Fatato '66, Diana Agusta '71, Nichole Magoon '10, Julie Germek Snow '86, Rob Riggins '01, and Katy Kent '09. Many others are mentioned in the Class Notes section regarding recent honors, professional accomplishments, new jobs, engagements and marriages.

Undergraduate Paxton Hall shares his recent entrepreneurial accomplishments in the Student Q&A coming off his appearance in the New York Times Education section related to his ski and snowboard tuning business - PaxTunes.

The new Dean of the Division of Business, David Strubler is also profiled and talks about plans to redesign the business curriculum to endure that every student has full-time paid professional experience before graduation.
