Dublin Professor Explores Irish Parliment's Role
1/28/10
Mercier Press has just released ‘The Dáil in the 21st Century' authored by Champlain College Dublin faculty member Dr. Anthony O'Halloran.

Established as an independent Irish Parliament in January 1919, Dáil Éireann has frequently been treated with derision in contemporary public commentary, and labelled as ineffective and irrelevant. However, in ‘The Dáil in the 21st Century' Anthony O'Halloran challenges suggestions that the Dáil is in a state of perpetual decline, and provides a comprehensive account of the Dáil's position in early 21st-century Ireland.
Dr. O'Halloran's first book, coauthored by Tom O'Connor and entitled Politics in a Changing Ireland (1960-2007), was released in 2008. His third book, Walls, Fences and Boundaries, is to be released later in 2010.
