Champlain Beavers Pull Fire Truck to Raise Funds

The Champlain College Beavers team, with 13 members including staff, students and alumni, raised almost $4,000 this past weekend for Outright Vermont.
The team was one of 11 teams competing to pull a firetruck the furthest distance on Church Street Marketplace. Champlain's team raised the most money, $3,918. The event raised $16,000 to support anti-bullying programs across Vermont, Friday night support groups for gay/straight teens and other youth events.
Outright Vermont is the state's largest organization working specifically with youths who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, questioning or transgender.
Members of the Champlain team were staff members: Danelle Berube, Kyle Dodson, Brian Gilbar, Roland Palmer, Lara Scott, James Willette, Claire Williams (top fundraiser on the team) ,Faith Yacubian. Student team members were: Matthew Ginsburg, Lindsey Lauble, Hau Le, Craig McKeon, and recent Champlain grad Alicia Ferrell.
