‘How Mediators Can Save the Planet' Topic of Talk

            BURLINGTON, Vt. - Kenneth Cloke, an author and specialist in mediation and conflict resolution will be the guest speaker at Champlain College on Tuesday, May 12 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hauke Family Campus Center, 375 Maple St. The public event is presented by the Woodbury Institute of Champlain College Chapter of Mediators Beyond Borders (MBB).

            Cloke is director of the Center for Dispute Resolution in Santa Monica California. He is a mediator, arbitrator, consultant, and trainer specializing in communication and negotiation. He has successfully mediated complex multi-party conflicts, including community, grievance and workplace disputes, collective bargaining negotiations, organizational and school conflicts, sexual harassment and discrimination lawsuits, and public policy disputes. He has had extensive experience designing preventative conflict resolution systems for organizations.

            The free event is open to the public. Donations to the Woodbury Institute's MBB will be accepted. Reservations encouraged, please contact Roni Coleman at rcoleman@champlain.edu.

            Woodbury Institute of Champlain College is also offering a four-day Basic Mediation workshop on June 3-6 at Champlain College, geared toward people who handle conflict in the workplace. Discounted tuition is available for participants from non-profit organizations.
