"Mind-meld" Drop-In Discussion: Violence Against Women

Wednesday, Dec. 94 - 5:30 pm
Miller Information Commons, Vista Room, 3rd floor
Cookies and cider will be provided.

An open conversation.  A casual discussion.  A way to become more aware. Join us in a "mind-meld" for flowing, informal conversation on the topic of violence against women.

No formal presentations.  No panel of experts.  Just concerned and curious people gathering together to talk about an issue that affects 1 in 3 women1 across the globe.

Trafficking, murder, mutilation, domestic assault, sexual violence, harassment - these are just some forms of violence against women.  This violence affects not only women, but the men and children in their lives as well.  The ways to think about this issue are vast - media, society, culture, economics, psychology, ethics, human rights, etc...

Come talk, come listen, come share your stories and hear others.  Stay for as little or as long as you'd like.  All are invited and classes are encouraged to attend.

Presented by the Emergent Media Center, Library, Center for Service & Civic Engagement, Office of Diversity & Inclusion, Divisions of CORE and Communication & Creative Media.

Some statistics on the issue can be found here:
