2010 Champlain's Summer Launch Programs

Incoming freshman now have the opportunity to get a jump start on their personal and professional journey at Champlain College with Champlain's 2010 Summer Launch Programs. All events are first come first serve and registration starts on May 1, 2010.
Vermont is the perfect summer vacation destination with its beautiful landscape, local flavor and welcoming attitude. Students can sign up for four different two- three day programs to get inspired and bond with future classmates.


List of the programs offered and a brief explanation of their itineraries:

  • Champlain Ultimate Transition Experience- Tuesday, June 29- Friday, July 2, 2010 This program will allow you to experience all aspects of college so you know what to expect when you arrive in the fall. Part of your days will be filled with a mix of skills-building classes, such as learning time management and organization, and exploring all of the resources available to you on campus and in the community. The rest of your days will be spent participating in fun activities both on campus and in the community, allowing you to build social connections that will continue to grow when you return in the fall. Hiking, taking the Champlain Ferry across beautiful Lake Champlain, eating Ben & Jerry's ice cream and Cabot cheese, and many other activities will be part of your ultimate transition experience.
  • Bike Montréal- Wednesday, July 14-Friday, July 16, 2010 Join fellow first-year students for a bike tour of Montréal and take in the sights and sounds of this beautiful, European-style city. No expert bike skills necessary. Please note: Passports are required.
  • Outdoor Adventure Program- Monday, July 19-Wednesday, July 21, 2010 A small group of first-year students will spend three days on a backcountry retreat at a wilderness lodge, building long-lasting friendships with fellow students. Activities include a beginner/intermediate hike, games, and fun opportunities for getting connected. 
  • Roller Coaster Extravaganza- Sunday, July 25-Tuesday, July 27, 2010
    Thrill seeking first-year students take a trip Great Escape amusement and water park, followed by setting up camp and enjoying a jazz band under the stars. The next day will include a steamboat ride around Lake George before packing up to head back to Burlington for more fun activities on Champlain's Campus
