Tech Jam VTReady to Rock?

Champlain College will be a part of the 2011 Vermont Tech Jam, Vermont's largest career fair and tech expo!

  • Friday, October 28, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, October 29, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

The event will be held in downtown Burlington at The Borders Building: 29 Church St., Burlington, VT

More than 70 exhibitors will set up shop at the 5th Tech Jam.Click here for a list of exhibitors.If you're looking for a job or an internship in a tech-related field, this is where you want to be.Many of the companies exhibiting are actively hiring or scouting for talent.There are jobs available in software development, information architecture, engineering, sales, marketing, customer support, business development, research, technical writing and more.The Tech Jam program also includes:

  • A Saturday afternoon Lunch and Learn with Google and Dealer.com.Employees of both discuss how to foster innovation in the workplace. The first 100 people to pre-register will get a free lunch. Space is limited. Click here to pre-register.
  • An electrifying "Jolts and Volts" presentation withJohn Cohn, senior fellow at IBM.
  • A conversation with women tech and business leadersabout the challenges and opportunities women encounter working in the male-dominated tech sector.
  • An augmented reality experiencecreated by the Champlain College MFA in Emergent Media program.
  • Plus: Meet members of Middlebury College's nationally recognized Solar Decathlon team; scope out analternative energy race carcreated by University of Vermont students; and meet the tech team behind VT Response, a volunteer-coordination web project that helped Vermonters connect after Tropical Storm Irene.

1 p.m.: Panel discussion: "Women in Science and Technology"
2 p.m.: Middle- and high-school students depart
2 p.m.: Augmented Reality Sculpture Tour on Church Street
3 p.m.: Panel discussion: "How stand out in the hiring process" - Some of the area's top HR reps offer insight into how they hire.
5 p.m.: Tech Jam closes for the night
5-7 p.m.: Exhibitor reception

Saturday
