Summer Program: Dublin
Dublin Summer Experience
About Dublin
Ireland's capital city buzzes during summer with its many festivals—it's truly a vibrant, energetic, multicultural city (and doesn't rain as much as they'd have you believe). Music, dance, and culture are as much a part of everyday life here as the influence of Asian, African, and European communities. Immerse yourself in Dublin's rich cultural traditions by celebrating Irish food, dance, music, and literature. Explore the world of Swift, Wilde, and Joyce, and find inspiration around every corner. Lie down next to Viking bones and see how you size up in Ireland's National Museum. Learn firsthand from an Irish perspective how Ireland, as an international business and technology center, is able to make very different choices regarding current global economic challenges than the United States and larger European countries. This is a unique opportunity to experience Ireland, and getting around Dublin is as easy as using the city's transportation systems, bicycles, or taking a lovely walk through St. Stephen's Green.

Academic Experience
Champlain is offering a NEW 5 week, 6 credit summer experience at our Dublin campus with a selection of courses that focus on professional and cultural opportunities in the city. Rather than spending all your time in the classroom, spend it exploring, learning hands-on the historical and cultural dynamics that make Dublin unique. Spend class time in galleries and exhibits, in the Irish parliament building, atop hill forts, and watching real Irish music seisiúns and gigs. Champlain Abroad Dublin offers students an international perspective and prepares them to be global professionals in a small, intimate academic setting with our local Champlain Abroad Dublin faculty: industry professionals giving students unique insights and connections. Our courses fit across majors with a variety of place-based general education, professional, and interdisciplinary options that provide students with an understanding of Irish culture and a global perspective of self.

Academic Center
Our academic centers in Montréal and Dublin are evidence of our belief in the value of the international education experience. Each academic center is housed in an architecturally notable building selected for its proximity to the city center, public transportation, and historical landmarks. Each facility has been transformed into a high-tech learning center with classrooms, a computer lab, and student lounge areas. Champlain Abroad Dublin is located in the historic Georgian area in the center of the city just blocks from St. Stephen's Green, the shopping on Grafton Street, the action of the Temple Bar district, and more. With a bus stop right outside the front door of the academic center, transportation around town is easy.
