Bachelor's Degree Requirement

To be eligible for the MBA program, we require that you hold a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution with at least a 2.5 GPA, or equivalent. While a bachelor's in business or management will guarantee students have the requisite knowledge to begin the MBA, many come into this program without these degrees. If you lack a bachelor's degree in business or management, you will have the opportunity to bolster your business acumen in the areas of economics, statistics, and/or financial accounting prior to beginning the MBA program in the following ways:

  • Enroll and successfully complete up to three undergraduate online courses (each 7 weeks long) at Champlain College Online.

  • Gain access to Champlain College Online undergraduate level course lessons and readings without enrolling and test-out for just $150 per course.

  • Or, instead of accessing Champlain's courses, access lessons in these areas however you wish (textbooks, online content you find on your own, on-the-job training) and test-out for just $50 per course.

Do you already have a demonstrated proficiency in these areas? Just provide the following with your admission package to be evaluated by our Program Director:

  • Previous college coursework in these areas

  • Professional certifications in these areas

  • On the job training

Work Experience Requirement

We expect that applicants have experience or current employment in a professional work environment with opportunities for applying new skills. Applicants with limited work experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Official Transcripts

Official academic transcripts are required from all colleges and universities you have previously attended, whether or not a degree was conferred. Foreign transcripts must be evaluated by a recognized equivalency service. Request transcripts be sent directly to Champlain College Online by mail, email, or fax:

As part of the online application, you will be asked to submit an essay. The essay is comprised of 3 short answer questions about your personal and professional goals and your approach to online learning, requiring a 1-2 paragraph response each.

Letter of Recommendation

You are required to submit one professional letter of recommendation from someone who can assess your capabilities as an employee and/or student, preferably a supervisor or manager.
