Resources for Current RAs

Resident Assistants from Spring 2011 posed for photo.

Welcome to the best job at Champlain College.

Being a resident assistant can be a busy and stressful job at times. However, you will be hard pressed to find a job that is also as fun and rewarding.  Through your role, you will develop close friendships, provide assistance to students when they most need it, plan exciting events, and set the tone of a brand new community for personal and academic success.  It can be a big undertaking for someone who is also a student themselves.  We hope that the resources on this page make that task just a little bit easier.

Programming Proposal & Evaluation Forms

This year, we have moved to online program proposals and evaluations.  In addition to being more sustainable, this will also work towards a future goal of being able to provide an electronic database of past programs that resident assistants may search to help them brainstorm ideas.  Clink the links below to access the appropriate form.

Program Proposal Form

Program Evaluation Form

Attendance Roster — For every program, you should be utilizing a scanner (reserved and checked-out from 'The Hub') for tracking attendance. A link to the scanner reservation form will automatically pop-up after you complete the program proposal form above. However, in special occasions when you cannot check-out a scanner, you will need to download this form to take attendance and upload it when completing your program evaluation. Use of this form should be infrequent.

The Social Change Model of Leadership Development

Our department utilizes the Social Change Model of Leadership Development for our programming model.  Resident assistants coordinate seven programs throughout the year relating to the '7 C's' including consciousness of self and others, congruence, commitment, collaboration, common purpose, controversy with civility, and citizenship.
