All Breed Rescue
Established in 1996, All Breed Rescue is a non-profit rescue organization devoted to saving dogs, no matter their age, breed, location, health or behavioral issue.
Champlain's Center for Service developed a relationship with the organization in the fall of 2012. Since then they have hosted two orientations for students. For the first trip, a student leader took 13 students to the orientation. After the orientation, students were allowed to volunteer with the organization whenever they please. A majority of the students present at the first trip were first-year students, but there were several upperclassmen. Once you become a volunteer, you are able to perform a variety of tasks to help us with the dogs. Tasks include:
- Walking dogs
- Socialization and basic training
- Assisting adoption counselors
- Assisting kennel staff with cleaning, handling and grooming
- And more
