Catamount Trails Association

Champlain's Center for Service and Civic Engagement has pair with the Service Track of the LEAD program to expand the community initiatives available to students. One event that happened from this collaboration was the CSCE's involvement with the Catamount Trails Association.

In October 2012, CSCE rented a bus and took 17 students to the Catamount Trail Association Work Day. The group was comprised of 15 upperclassmen and two first-year students. They spent their Saturday morning carving pumpkins for the Haunted Forest, a Halloween tradition of combining the community with theater in the woods of Williston, Vermont . The students responded very well to the trip. They enjoyed the time they had and we were able to help out a local organization.
