Here's what we will do for two days
- During the first day of the Summit, we will use a strength based, whole system approach, called Appreciative Inquiry, to identify the best of what already exists in our community in terms of educational preparation, cross stakeholder partnerships and workforce sustainability in the state of Vermont.
- We will also envision what building and sustaining a thriving workforce will entail and how long-term partnerships may ensure the economic vitality and sustainability of VT.
- Bob Stiller, former CEO of Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR), and Honorary Chair of our Partnerships for a Thriving Workforce Summit, will open the event by explaining to Summit attendees how using the Appreciative Inquiry approach to planning was one of the key factors that contributed to GMCR's incredible success.
- On Day 2 we will identify key elements of a model that brings these visions from dream to reality. Work will be done in task groups based on the themes that emerge from Day 1 discussion.
- Champlain College faculty and staff will identify ways to leverage our resources to support the vision that emerged on Day 1. We will seek to identify areas for further collaboration between divisions, departments, businesses and the community at large.
- Appreciation Reception: The first day will conclude with an Appreciation Reception at Perry Hall. All summit attendees as well as many other employers who have supported Champlain College's students, graduates and alumni will be invited to attend.
