Lower your building's electricity consumption

Based on usage from same time period last year.

There are 4 kill-a-watt meters available to check out from Res Life, to see how much power individual appliances use.

10 points for every percentage point lower than last year (eg: 5% lower = 50 points)

 

Host an energy-related film night in your building. See suggestions below.


RA must include a copy of a flyer or other advertisements announcing the film attached to program evaluation.

80% or greater participation = 10 pts.

60-79% participation = 8 pts.

40-59% participation = 6 pts.

20-39% participation = 4 pts.

10-19% participation = 2 pts.

Have an energy-themed bulletin board in your building

Attend Sustain Champlain monthly meeting

February topic = Curriculum

Thursday, February 16th, 12:30-1:30 pm, IDX 309

5 points for each person that attends (you must sign in)

Create a piece of recycled art/sculpture using only materials that would be otherwise thrown in the trash or recycling, focusing on the theme of energy

 

RA must include a photo attached to program evaluation.

10 pts.

RA designed activity related to energy

Read the weekly Sustain Champlain e-bulletin (email) for suggestions on relevant events within the community.

Must be approved by AD

 

Submit program evaluation.

Attend energy-related films hosted by the Environmental Club.

Video Competition: Using any medium, create a short video that is no longer than three (3) minutes and promotes energy conservation behaviors.

Videos must be posted to YouTube and send a link to cerickson@champlain.edu by 4pm on Friday, February 24th. All submissions may be reposted on the Eco-Reps Facebook page.

Video submissions will be shown at the Environmental Club film event on Monday, February 27th at 7:30 pm in Alumni Auditorium. Event attendees will vote on their favorite video.

5 pts. for each film submission

10 pts. for winning film

Attend Common Ground dialogue on Energy

February 21, 6-8pm in MIC Vista Room

Tag your photo pledge Did you make a photo pledge of how you'll save energy over the month? Tag your photo with your name and res hall on the Eco-Reps Facebook page. 2 points for each tag (include name & res hall)
