International Student Applications

You're ambitious. You're hard working.  And you're ready to take your education to the next level. You've seen what Champlain College has to offer.  The next step is applying, so here is how you do it.

International Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. However, we recommend you apply well in advance to the start of the fall or spring semester to give ample time to prepare for studies at Champlain College.  We run on two semesters, fall starting in August and the spring semester which begins in January.  In order to be considered for admission, we will need the following:

  • Complete Common Application (international student version), which includes an essay.
  • Complete Champlain Supplement form (may also be found on Common Application website)
  • Original documents or certified copies of secondary school courses and marks earned, and/or secondary school completion examination scores (whichever is customary in your country), must be submitted.  All documents must be translated into English, if necessary.  (This is the student's responsibility to arrange and pay for.  Contact www.wes.org for information on this service)
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or ELPT for students whose first language is not English. We also accept the IELTS. The following scores are required:
    • TOEFL: a 500 or 173 , with a minimum essay score of 4
    • ELPT: a minimum of 950
    • IELTS: a minimum of 5
  • Bank statements or a sponsor's financial statement certifying your ability to meet the expenses of attending Champlain College for one full academic year.  Sponsors will also need to submit a letter of support.
  • The SAT or ACT are highly recommended for students to be considered for merit scholarships.
  • A copy of your passport must be submitted. The passport must be vaild for six (6) months into the future.

Upon your acceptance, and certification of financial support, we will send you I-20 paperwork to begin the process of acquiring a visa.
