Business Values

Champlain is located in a state that has the highest number of entrepreneurs and independent business owners per capita in the country, which makes this an ideal place to network with professionals and learn by doing at a variety of well-known businesses. Our programs in Accounting, Business with market-driven specializations, International Business, Managing Creative and Marketing have been built by faculty who are experts in their fields and who embrace the Vermont business values of Sustainability, Corporate Responsibility, Entrepreneurship and Work/Life Balance.

Experienced Faculty

Our faculty members understand how the business environment works because many have been there, working in full-time positions in nonprofit environmental organizations, Fortune 500 companies and travel and tourism resorts as well as starting and running their own businesses. In the Division of Business at Champlain College, you will be learning business theory and principles from faculty whose academic backgrounds include CPAs, MBAs and Ph.Ds. You’ll get hands-on right from the start, regardless of the program you choose, because our faculty know that “learning by doing” helps you develop the strong entrepreneurial sensibilities you’ll need to keep your career, and the organization you are in, running smoothly, no matter what the economic climate.

Master the Fundamentals of Business

Regardless of the major you choose you will participate in our Business Mastery Plan, which will ensure that by the time you graduate from Champlain’s Division of Business, you will have the characteristics that employers are asking for and you will be ready for a career that will help make a difference in the world. Elective options will give you room to explore additional interests in art, languages, technology, economics and communication. Study abroad options, co-curricular and extracurricular activities also allow you to learn and grow in your four years at Champlain College.
