"Careers that matter to people" is how one student describes the focus of the programs in the Division of Education & Human Studies. Encompassing many different professions, these majors attract students who care about others: the born educator, the team player and the lover of justice.
High Demand
Opportunities abound—with job prospects expected to remain bright. An increased focus on environmental stewardship, for example, will sustain demand for leaders versed in environmental policy. On the human services front, population trends and a continued influx of immigrants to the U.S. will increase the need for professionals who can coordinate various types of care and access to resources.
Whether you aspire to be an educator, law enforcement officer, paralegal or social worker, your contributions will ensure that we address our complex societal challenges with the right blend of technical skill and concern for the lives of others.
Experiential Learning
Champlain’s Division of Education & Human Studies is on the forefront of preparing motivated, civi-minded students for rewarding careers and successful professional lives. Our programs give you as much time working in the field as possible. For example our education majors are in the classroom working with teachers in the field starting in their first term, and our Criminal Justice students have intervened at the FBI, the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and the Champlain College Center for Digital Investigation (C3DI).
Our experience-based approach has been designed to give you lifelong career agility and advantage as a human services professional.
