Program Competencies

Upon completion of the Champlain College bachelor's degree program in Business, a graduate will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate knowledge and skills in the disciplines that make up the field of business including accounting, economics, finance, human resource management, business law, management, management information systems / technology, and marketing.

  2. Facility with information technologies that support business process and communication.

  3. Demonstrate an ability to reason critically, gather and weigh evidence, and bring creative, innovative approaches to decision making and implementation.

  4. Show a comprehensive business perspective including local and global economies - an awareness of the unique issues involved in a global business environment.

  5. Develop management and leadership — including the ability to work with others in a team environment.

  6. Demonstrate an understanding of sustainable business practices and corporate social responsibility (csr)

  7. Show professional readiness — ability to secure, adapt to and perform work effectively.

  8. Demonstrate self-managed learning — knowing how to learn and what you need to learn

  9. Apply strong communication skills — ability to comprehend and express ideas

  10. Utilize quantitative reasoning and skills to facilitate decision making
