Program Competencies

Upon completion of their academic and internship requirements, graduates of Champlain College's undergraduate Computer Networking & Information Security Program will:

  1. Demonstrate an understanding of network systems and data communications including network modeling, analysis, and planning.
  2. Analyze the computer network and information security needs of an organization.
  3. Analyze the performance of an enterprise level network information system and components.
  4. Troubleshoot, maintain, and update an enterprise level network information system and components.
  5. Troubleshoot, maintain, and update an enterprise level information security system.
  6. Plan, document, and discuss potential changes and impacts to an enterprise information system network and security.
  7. Effectively communicate technical information verbally, in writing, and in presentations.
  8. Use appropriate resources to stay abreast of the latest industry development tools and techniques.
  9. Cite and comply with relevant industry and organizational codes of conduct and ethics.
  10. Compare and contrast different computer technologies and solutions including hardware, software, networks, servers, routers, firewalls, etc.
