Program Competencies
Upon completion of their academic and internship requirements, graduates of Champlain College's undergraduate Computer Networking & Information Security Program will:
- Demonstrate an understanding of network systems and data communications including network modeling, analysis, and planning.
- Analyze the computer network and information security needs of an organization.
- Analyze the performance of an enterprise level network information system and components.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and update an enterprise level network information system and components.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and update an enterprise level information security system.
- Plan, document, and discuss potential changes and impacts to an enterprise information system network and security.
- Effectively communicate technical information verbally, in writing, and in presentations.
- Use appropriate resources to stay abreast of the latest industry development tools and techniques.
- Cite and comply with relevant industry and organizational codes of conduct and ethics.
- Compare and contrast different computer technologies and solutions including hardware, software, networks, servers, routers, firewalls, etc.
