This degree program is offered at very few colleges, so a Management of Creative Media bachelor’s degree from Champlain College will set you apart in this burgeoning field.
Our innovative program couples our highly regarded Business core with programs from our Division of Communication & Creative Media, turning out smart strategists who grasp the underlying technology and creative process required in the field.
You’ll be prepared to plan projects, manage talent and analyze financials—in short, to run the business. Plus, your know-how in marketing, merchandising, licensing and securing intellectual property rights in the rapidly evolving media landscape will ensure that projects are fully realized and as profitable as possible.
The Management of Creative Media program will ground you in business basics: accounting, business law, economics, management, finance, mathematics and statistics. You’ll also explore concepts that are redefining how business is conducted, such as globalization and social responsibility.
To better understand how creative people develop their ideas, and to develop your own creativity, you’ll take 18 credits or more in the following specialization areas within the Division of Communication & Creative Media: Broadcast & Streaming Media, Digital Film, Game Production, Graphic Design and Publishing.
Depending on your focus, you can intern at a production house, a game studio or a design agency, or gain experience on campus in the Emergent Media Center or through the Champlain College Publishing Initiative. You’ll have a resume and a portfolio to showcase your business acumen and your grasp of the creative process, as well as real-world experience ushering creative projects toward expected levels of profitability and commercial success.
You will graduate with the management and creative skills to create and execute contemporary media strategy successfully for a wide range of industries or launch your own creative media venture.
